Fast-charge graphite anode material, D50 9 µm. Fine-particle graphite engineered for high rate capability. The smaller particle size shortens the lithium diffusion path, which supports faster charge acceptance than conventional graphite at some cost in volumetric energy density.

Why smaller particles charge faster

Lithium has to diffuse from the particle surface to its centre. Halving the particle radius cuts that diffusion time by roughly a factor of four, which is why fine graphite accepts current that would plate lithium on a coarser anode. The trade is more surface area, so more electrolyte is consumed forming the SEI, and slightly lower first-cycle efficiency and tap density.

Applications

  • Fast-charge and high-rate cell development
  • Power tool, EV and energy-storage anode formulations
  • Rate-capability benchmarking against conventional graphite
  • Lithium plating threshold studies
  • Blending with coarser graphite to tune the rate/energy balance

Handling

Store sealed and dry. Fine graphite has more surface area than coarse grades and picks up moisture faster; dry before slurry preparation if the container has been open.
