Returns and Refunds
Returns and Refunds
We want you to get the right material. If something arrives damaged, incorrect, or not as specified, tell us and we will make it right. Beyond that, what we can accept back depends on the product, because material that has left our control cannot be certified to the next customer.
Damaged or incorrect shipments
Inspect your shipment before signing for it. Report visible damage to the carrier at the point of delivery, and report damaged, incorrect, or non-conforming items to us within 5 business days of delivery with photographs and your order number. Keep all packaging until the claim is resolved. This applies to every category below, including items that are otherwise non-returnable. We will replace the item, issue a refund, or arrange collection at our cost.
How to return an item
Email ytang@advanced-materials.com or call 351-228-4779 within 30 days of receipt to request a Return Merchandise Authorization number. We will confirm eligibility before you ship anything. Returns sent without an RMA number cannot be processed and will be refused.
We must receive the item within 15 days of issuing the RMA. The RMA number must appear on the packing list, and the product must be in its original packaging, unused and complete. Returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility except where the item was damaged, incorrect, or non-conforming. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of us receiving and inspecting the item.
Grinding media
Unopened, factory-sealed containers are returnable under the terms above. Once a container is opened, media cannot be returned. Media that has been introduced to a mill, mixed with other sizes or materials, or transferred out of its original container is not returnable under any circumstances, as we cannot verify it against specification for resale.
Milling jars
Unused jars in original packaging are returnable under the terms above. A jar that has been used for milling is not returnable, as we cannot certify what it has contained. Custom sizes, custom materials, and jars modified to fit a specific mill are non-returnable.
Battery materials
Cathode and anode actives, electrolytes, salts, solvents, separators, binders, and conductive additives are not returnable once shipped. Most of these materials are moisture sensitive, air sensitive, or both, and their performance depends on storage conditions we cannot verify after they leave us. This is standard practice across the industry and is not a reflection on the material or on you.
If a material does not meet the specification on its documentation, that is a non-conformance rather than a return. Contact us with your lot number and we will resolve it.
Do not ship regulated materials back to us. Lithium metal, flammable electrolytes, and certain powders are subject to transport regulations and cannot be returned through standard carriers. Contact us first in every case.
Cell hardware
Unopened, sealed packs are returnable under the terms above. Opened packs are not returnable. Cases, spacers, springs, and gaskets are handled and often taken into a glovebox, and we cannot resell hardware whose surface condition we cannot confirm.
Lab supplies and equipment
Unused items in original packaging are returnable under the terms above. Consumables are not returnable once opened. Equipment carrying a manufacturer warranty is covered under that warranty; contact us and we will assist with the claim. Used equipment returned for warranty service may require a decontamination form, which we will provide.
Items that cannot be returned
Regardless of condition, we cannot accept returns of hazardous or regulated materials, opened or damaged containers, chemicals of any type, consumables, custom or special order items, and material past its expiration date or with too little shelf life remaining for resale. Items sourced, sized, or manufactured specifically for your order are non-returnable, and we will tell you at quotation stage when this applies.
