Polyurethane roller mill jar, 2000 ml. A tough, chemically resistant polymer jar for gentle roller milling and slurry homogenising. Polyurethane is the softest jar lining we stock, so it introduces almost no contamination and will not break if dropped — the practical choice for large-volume mixing where grinding energy is not the point.

Roller vs planetary milling

A roller (jar) mill turns the jar on horizontal rollers, so the media cascades under gravity. A planetary mill spins the jar on a rotating carrier, generating several g of centrifugal force. Planetary mills grind far faster and reach finer particle sizes; roller mills are gentler, quieter, cheaper to run and handle much larger batch volumes. Choose a roller mill for bulk homogenising, slurry mixing and overnight runs where speed is not the constraint.

Choosing polyurethane

Polyurethane contributes essentially no grinding energy of its own, so pair it with dense media — zirconia or alumina — and expect longer cycles than a ceramic jar. If you need real size reduction rather than mixing, use an alumina or zirconia jar instead. If you need chemical inertness above all, PTFE resists a wider solvent range.
