Zirconia-toughened alumina (ZTA) grinding media, 2.5–3.0 mm. A cost-effective alternative to full zirconia media where extreme purity isn't required. At ≥12 GPa, ZTA is the hardest media in our range, and the dispersed zirconia phase gives it far better toughness than standard alumina. Lower density than zirconia means gentler grinding action and lower energy draw.

Ball mills, agitator bead mills, and attritors. Suitable for wet and dry milling.
Choosing ZTA vs. Zirconia
ZTA costs significantly less per kilogram and grinds harder, but wears faster and introduces alumina into your product. For battery materials, electronic ceramics, pharmaceuticals, or any application where contamination is a specification, use yttria- or ceria-stabilized zirconia instead.
